The SAA encourages you to participate in the various work we do. Please select your areas of interest for volunteer involvement on the membership form or update your choices in your member profile.

Areas of Interest for Volunteer Involvement:

Committee Work

• Contribute your voice to ongoing initiatives, planning, and strategic development through participation in SAA committees.

Professionalization Support

• Help organize and facilitate career development opportunities, mentorship programs, and resources for members at all career stages.

Fundraising & Development

• Assist in creating connections and campaigns to support the SAA’s financial sustainability and growth.

Ground Work (On-Site Support at the Conference)

• Offer hands-on help with registration, session coordination, tech setup, and attendee support during the annual meeting.

Accessibility & Inclusion Initiatives

• Support efforts to make SAA spaces—virtual and physical—more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all.

Graduate Student Engagement

• Work on initiatives designed to support and connect graduate student members, including event planning and community-building.
